Project phases and extra details for this project have been deliberately concealed so as not to contravene the non-disclosure agreement.
The Information System Interface Design project is ongoing, and it will be launched in phases in the coming months after going through the necessary cycles of testing and stakeholder sign off.
Identified and suggested more efficient ways of working between designers and developers. Suggested the need for the team to embrace new ways of working that will improve the design - developer communication and handoff process. I also led an effort to introduce more robust user research before going on to design high-fidelity.
At different times, I have had to discuss with key stakeholders from different divisions, communicate my design decisions, and then to implement feedback.
I have been involved in robust design activities like going through stages of research and contributing to functionality document development.
Working on this project has been remarkable and inspiring. For me, being a part of it was beyond redesigning and improving the information system, it was also very much about being able to introduce new methods that will make the team more efficient and work seamlessly.
When I started, I was concerned about how much freedom I would have to suggest new ways of working, but this was not a problem as I got full support from the team head. While so many things have worked out well, it still has not been a completely smooth sail. Some of my contributions were recommending across-functional approach on projects that will involve more research before implementing designs.
A project that I found most challenging was when I had to work on a room booking system. To me, it was challenging because of the complexity, but that in itself was my motivation. For this project, I conducted robust research, which included competitive benchmarking, mapping the user flow, creating personas, and identifying pain points that may arise when using the process. After completing the design, I shared it with stakeholders, and they were delighted with how the designs were intuitive and user friendly.
The Information System Interface Design project is still ongoing, and it will be launched in phases in the coming months after going through the necessary cycles of testing and stakeholder sign off.
